Quality Public Charter Education
Harmony Virtual Academy is a KG - 12th online charter school providing a high-quality education option for students in the surrounding areas. Our school is a part of the state-wide Harmony Public Schools system.
Harmony Public Schools is a system of 60 Texas public charter schools that provides rigorous, high-quality education focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
PER TEXAS SENATE BILL 15, STUDENTS WHO LEARN REMOTELY MUST:
- Maintain a grade of C or higher in all core subjects, namely Reading, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
- Successfully passed all STAAR exams from the previous year, applicable to grades 3-12. For students who have not taken STAAR or are in a non-tested grade level, NWEA MAP test results will be required.
- We require students to maintain a minimum attendance rate of 90% and above for the previous school year, with no more than 10% of unexcused absences. Keep unexcused absences to fewer than ten (10) occurrences during their enrollment in remote instruction over a six-month period.

- Ensure participation in state-required in-person testing throughout the school year.
- It's important to note that the Texas Education Code, specifically Section 30A.007(b), delegates the responsibility to the admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee to evaluate whether online courses align with the educational requirements of students with disabilities. An ARD meeting must be held before proceeding with enrollment. This evaluation is carried out in accordance with both state and federal laws, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
